Since my husband began his journey with the Lord 10 years ago he has always had a desire to pursue a higher education in order to one day be able to hold a position in ministry as a youth pastor. But, because of having a child at 18 his priority has always been to work to provide. Because he was never in a place financially to go to college he read every book available to him to learn more about who God was and over the years his passion grew in the fields of theology and apologetics. He served in youth ministry, taught Sunday school classes, and volunteered in various outreach youth programs. He listened and learned from mentors and friends at Quail Lakes Baptist Church and began teaching classes about Systematic Theology, and Discipleship.
This year he found a program online at Baylor Truett Seminary that was at an afforable cost and began to take courses as a student to work at his own pace. A few months ago he discovered a Master's in Divinty Program that he saw was available for anyone to apply. And with nothing but a highschool diploma, a willing heart, and a couple letters of recommendation he applied to the program.
Yesterday, God turned a very unlikely situation into an incredible one when he answered our prayers and my husband received his ACCEPTANCE letter to Baylor University Masters in Diviny Program!!
And now we are praying for your prayers and your support. It will cost a total of $112,000 for this program. We are so SHOCKED and blessed that we're receiving a scholarship that will result in us coming out of pocket $36,000. But, all we need to get started is $4,700 DUE DECEMBER 20TH. After that we will owe another $5,000 due in the next month. And this still doesn't include moving, traveling, and living expenses! {estimated at another $2,000}
These last few months have been such a beautiful example of living each day through faith when Phanna lost his job and we only had one income to cover our bills and his medical expenses for his Lupus. We've seen God work in the craziest most amazing ways, and we have no doubt that He will continue to provide for us in this new journey and new season of life. So for those of you who can't afford to give this holiday season, remember that it's through prayer that God has carried us here, and it's through your prayer and support that will continue to encourage us along the way! Thank you for walking along side us. Your friendship alone has been one of the biggest blessings to our family!
