Stephanie’s Journey to beating Leukemia

Hello, my name is Stephanie. I am from San Antonio, Texas. 

What was supposed to be a fun-filled family vacation, turned to a nightmare. I was excited to take my 3 year old son to Disneyland with the rest of my family. Ready to see his face light up and smile. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to. That morning, I decided to stay behind because I felt fragile and struggled to breathe. I made the best choice to get admitted to the ER. At the time, I was pregnant and thought it was just pregnancy symptoms. After being transported to the hospital and in the ICU for a few days, I had a bone marrow biopsy done and confirmed 100% leukemia positive. Unfortunately, my baby didn’t get to make it, but here I stand and continue to battle this cancer to be able to see my son again and my family and friends who have been supportive this whole time. I thank God daily for my strength and faith that I will overcome this.

Unfortunately, I won’t be able to work for an extended period.

Proceeds will go towards my outpatient medical bills for ongoing treatment as I go through a long journey ahead of me, food, airfare to go back home, 12 hour assistance X 5 days a week at home as I am recovering, and continued help with my son as I will be limited to what I can do being high risk.
