Journee College Fund in honor of Shari Edwards
Donation protected
It is with great sadness that we share that Shari Edwards passed away on April 4, five days shy of her 28th birthday in Norfolk, VA. Shari leaves behind her beloved 9-year-old daughter Journee, her parents Carol and Trevor, sister Shana and brother TJ. The family is in shock. Although she had been battling long term Covid since December, her sudden death was wholly unexpected and has left her family devastated. Shari had been suffering from post-Covid seizures and was being treated with epilepsy medications, awaiting a hard-to-get neurologist appointment. She continued to go to work but with reduced hours because of extreme fatigue, and her co-workers were covering for her so she could keep her benefits. Early in the morning of April 4 she suffered another seizure followed by a massive heart attack. Her boyfriend performed CPR and called 911 and she was taken to the hospital. Her parents and Journee rushed from NYC to Norwalk. While they were en route - in constant touch with the doctors - Shari suffered two more attacks. She died shortly before her family arrived.
Shari had been living in VA and most recently was working for Loomis. Carol and Trevor have been raising Journee, and Shari maintained a close sister-like relationship with her. The two facetimed in the evenings, spent vacations together, and Journee was preparing to spend the upcoming summer with Shari in Norwalk. The heartbreak is overwhelming, but Carol and Trevor are remaining strong for their granddaughter, whom they will continue to care for and raise.
Shari's home going service will be on Saturday April 23rd, viewing at 1pm followed by service then procession to burial site: Hollomon-Brown funeral home: 8464 Tidewater Drive, Norfolk, VA 23518.
Journee has already chosen a lavender dress for her mother's burial- Shari's favorite color.
In honor of Shari, and in support of Journee, this fundraiser is to raise money for a college fund for Journee. Thank you for any help you are able to provide. The Edwards family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support.
