Hello, our names are James and Lauren Owens, we are the parents of Jourdan Owens. Jourdan was born July 29, 2014 and passed away April 5, 2022.

On April 3rd, Jourdan had a very tragic accident. Just like any other kid, he tried a challenge he seen on social media known as the “BlackOut Challenge”, which resulted in his untimely death.

We have prayed and prayed to God for this to be a nightmare but every second, minute, hour and day it was becoming a heartbreaking reality. Our son was only 7 being a normal curious kid, who loved and lived life to the fullest. He was an amazing, kind young man. He had a beautiful heart, soul and was the most purist person you would have ever met. He never met a stranger, everyone was his friend and he always made everyone laugh, he was sweet , generous, lovable, helpful, and had the most beautiful smile ever. He always lit up the room every time he entered. There is not one bad thing we can say about Jourdan except how much we all are going to miss him.

TO EVERYONE THAT READS THIS PLEASE!! watch what your child or children are watching. Even though we set parameters for them to access kid friendly things only, the creators of these challenges find ways to go around the community guidelines and change the names and the spelling so that kids of all ages can access these.
