Joslynn Baker’s funeral expenses due to Cancer

Hello, my name is Shabrina Al-Qudsi I am a family friend and I am writing on behalf of the Baker family. On the night of May 1st, 2023, Joslynn Baker have met her peace after battling with an aggressive thalamus tumor (DIGP) for 12 years. I write this with a heavy heart as she passed away at the age of 18 and had always been the most genuine, most selfless, and most considerate person I know. There was not once where I witness her treating others wrong and even at her time at the hospital she made sure to remember all of the nurses, CNAs, doctors, and other health specialists names who came into her room to thank them for their hardwork. When she needed help to remember their names again, she would apologize for even forgetting. Even though her health was at risk, she would always clean up and do everything she can by herself so that she could minimize the workload of the workers. She is truly a caring person.
The love that she gives to others are so contagious it makes the people around her warm when they are in her presence.

Joslynn had expressed her wish to donate her brain so that they could expand the scientific research on brain tumors in hope that there will be a chance to find a cure for DIPG. She had said to her mother, “no children deserves to go through what I went through, if I donate my brain for research then there will be more children that could live a longer and happier life.”
“My life here is temporary, but the research from my brain will live on for years and years helping many lives.”

Her mother, Mary had always been one of the strongest fighter and supporter all throughout her life. She cared for her with endless love and would always tell great stories about Jos to others. And just like joslynn, she is also an extremely selfless and caring person who will be there for her family, friends, and especially Joslynn. She has done everything that she knows would make he daughter happy. Jos loves her so much and enjoyed every aspect of her company that Mary laid next to Jos to comfort her until her very last breath.

Due to the treatments, Jos was transported from Billings, MT to Seattle children’s hospital. Since her passing, the plan is for her body to be sent back to Montana so that she can rest peacefully and be close with all of her family and loved ones. My hope is to raise donation for the funeral expenses, transportation, and support for her family. We need at least 3,500 to help cover some of the funeral expenses and the rest will be 100% donated to help aide her family.

You have been the best person I could ever wish for, the memory of you will always play in my mind and I will never forget how much of an impact you’ve made in my life. And like you said to me when we hugged our goodbyes, “thank you so much for our friendship” too, Joslynn.

The void that this loss has left our hearts with can only be minimal in comparison to how her mother is feeling.
Any donation that you can give at this time will help so much and feel free to share the link we appreciate this so much. We thank you all in advance for your support. Please keep Joslynn, the family, and her loved ones in your duas/prayers.
