Josie is only 10 months old and still learning how things work. She’s so full of joy and love; and just seems excited about life in general. She loves her humans unconditionally and likes being as close to them as she can get. Josie is precious to all of her people and they love her. She has the best silly personality and is a dedicated cuddler; she’s always ready with a sloppy, puppy kiss.

A few days ago Josie got all carried away with herself and made a way out of her fenced yard. She was hit by a car and seriously injured. Somehow, with the help of those special Angels who watch over silly puppy dogs, she made her way (several blocks) back to her home where she knew her people would help her.

They took her right away, for emergency surgery. Her foot was dislocated and her leg broken, needing 4 pins in it.

Hearts were broken and so many tears shed in fear for her life. Maybe it was love that brought her through.

She is home now and on the mend, thankfully, but the costs of her surgery and treatment are staggering and mounting.

As responsible pet owners we all anticipate incidental and unexpected expenses, especially as our dear companions age, but few of us are able to pull several thousand dollars from our reserves.

Sometimes we need help from other angels who have a soft spot for silly fur babies.
