Saving Great Animals is partnering with P.A.C.K. (People for Animal Care and Kindness) to help Josie and Gemma.

Josie and Gemma have experienced the worst side of humans. Please help us to show them the other side - a world filled with kindness and compassion.

These sweet girls were found in a garbage bag by the side of the road. At only 12 weeks old, they suffered the worst abuse and neglect. Both had their mouths wired shut and suffered many lacerations and injuries. Both of Gemma’s back legs are broken, one worse than the other. Her right hind leg is lifeless, with a spiral fracture that will require an orthopedic surgeon to attempt to save it.

The girls are currently in the hospital receiving supportive care for their injuries. Josie will be able to leave soon because her injuries are less severe and she can heal further at home. However, they have been deprived of food and water for some time and need to build up strength. Once Gemma is strong enough, she will undergo surgery to start the repair on one of her legs.

P.A.C.K. has arranged a foster home and Saving Great Animals is partnering with them to get the girls the medical care they need. Financially it is a big undertaking, but with your help we can do it! Their initial emergency care and Gemma’s orthopedic surgery estimate is around $10,000. We expect more expenses for a possible second surgery, rehabilitation and regular vet care later.
