I am raising a fund for my long term boyfriend Josiah. First of all, I just want to say thank you for taking the time to read his story. It's very much appreciated. Josiah was recently diagnosed with a rare auto immune disease, called Granulomatosis With Polyangiitis. Also known as GPA.
It's a condition that affects your blood vessels and causes them to become inflamed throughout your body.
It also attacks and destroys all your organs in your body. It's not only rare to have, but very rare to have it diagnosed at the age of just 29. Even more rare that the Dr's caught the disease this early. Usually it affects people of the ages of 40-65.
It has caused him to develop so many masses in his lungs, which have significantly grown within a week's time.
His congestion was unbearably painful because of all the inflammation. And the non stop coughing up blood and chest pain has been a big issue. This disease is very serious, and life long. It can be fatal, if not treated properly and in time. He has to have steroids everyday. Probably for the rest of his life. And has to have rounds of chemo.
He has been through so much lately. He's constantly being poked and tested in the hospital every day. It doesn't help that he has to stress about how much this is all going to cost, since it is life long.
Before this all happend we had a discussion talking about our hopes and dreams for the future. Alot of that included traveling and seeing the world together.. Just living life, instead of just surviving.
But our funds for anything, like a house and new car, bucket list traveling etc. have become non existent. Expecially once this all happened. No one should be stressing about money when they are dealing with their health issues. Expecially since stressing over things doesn't help you heal. We will be dealing with the cost of his hospital stays, more medical tests, ct scans, xrays, blood work, chemo transfusions, copays, and prescriptions for the rest of his life. This has really opened our eyes and made us want to experience all the great things life has to offer. Since you don't know how long you have. Josiah
definitely needs to get out and see what life has to offer. I really think that will help his stress and we'll being, and overall health. He's been in the hospital for a while now so he needs to get out more than ever. So again, I just want to say I really appreciate anyone who took the time to read this. We really truly appreciate all the funds we can get. It would make life a little easier and a little less stressful, so we can just focus on staying a happy healthy family and live life to the fullest. Thank you.
