Help Josiah O'Brien

Donation protected
I am Jay Ashman, I have trained Josiah O'Brien for several of his last powerlifting meets with the exception of his most recent one October 22 at the 22nd Barbell Club meet in Des Moines, Iowa.

During this meet he suffered a debilitating injury while squatting. His right leg suffered a torn quad, torn ACL, and a torn PCL. His left leg a torn patella, and torn LCL.

This injury will leave him out of work for a few months as he is laid up after surgery this coming week which will leave him unable to walk.

He has medical insurace to cover medical expenses but due to the fact that he is self-employed (https://optimum-personaltraining.com/) with a private training facility that he is the owner/sole operater at he will be out of work for a few months (up to 6) and will be unable to make income to pay his business rent and mortgage. He filed his business in a way where he cannot use it to claim disability or worker's compensation benefits.

He and his wife, Rachel, have a newborn child that depends on his salary to live.

Any donation is greatly appreciated to help Josiah and his family get through these tough times so he can keep his business and home while rehabbing to be able to get back to work.
Josiah has been a great client of mine and a good friend. He works hard, is a wonderful family man, and I hate to think of the idea of them having to start over because of a horrible injury from a Powerlifting meet.

This sport is known for it's camaraderie, please consider donating and sharing this page to help one of our own during this difficult and stressful time.

Thank you very much,
