Josiah Boa's Birth & Funeral Costs

My heart is heavy and saddened to share with you the tragic news that Rebecca & Drew have been carrying for many months now. Their second child, Josiah Davies Boa, is due at the end of the month. What ordinarily is a time of great rejoicing and anticipation is overshadowed by the knowledge that this precious little boy has a condition called anencephaly. Anencephaly (pronounced an-en-sef-uh-lee) is a serious birth defect in which a baby is born without parts of the brain and skull. Almost 75% of babies with anencephaly born at term survive their birth. The life expectancy of those who survive is only a few hours or days. 

As might be expected, this is tremendously overwhelming for Rebecca & Drew, so please respect their need for space and grieving. We want to alleviate the burdens they are experiencing, and while money cannot by any means solve these deep heartaches, it can reduce some of the stress involved with the financial burden of a funeral, service, et cetera. The funds raised will go to Rebecca & Drew to help cover the crematory fees, memorial service costs, and spiritual care of a trusted doula during labor and delivery.
