Joshua's Support: Violent Attack
Donation protected
TW: Violence, Abuse, Stabbing
On March 7th, 2021, Joshua and his wife were out having a night out with some friends and family when he got brutally attacked by a man with a knife. Joshua was walking a friend to the car when he saw a man putting his hands on what he believed to be his girlfriend. From the other side of the street, Joshua yelled out "Hey get your hands off of her, you don't put your hands on a woman!" The moment he yelled the attacker came across the street to him and started fighting with him. While fighting on the ground the attacker pulled out a knife and hit Joshua 9 times very close to his heart, his left side, and behind his right shoulder. His wife walking down the street saw the attack happening and while trying to intervene got attacked by the attacker's girlfriend.
As a result of the altercation Joshua was taken to the hospital and had to get an emergency surgery due to all the damage which included a deflated lung and a hit to the spine with lots of blood loss. Joshua spent 11 days in the hospital attached to IVs and breathing tubes. Luckily Joshua is back at home with his family resting and getting back to maximum health. He is currently dealing with nerve damage and pain and can't return back to work for another 4-8 weeks or until his doctors give him the ok.
If you know Joshua then you know he is a family oriented, outdoor loving man, so this attack has been very hard on both him and his family mentally, emotionally, and financially. Joshua is a husband, with two kids, and brings in income to support his family, but at this time has had to miss a lot of work and disability only helps so much. Your donations will go to the hospital bills, medicine and will support this beautiful family and their needs as they heal together.
*This is his cousin writing this who lives in Washington state but Joshua and his family reside in the Bay Area where the attack took place.
