Joshua's Joy

On Saturday November 25, 2017 my nephew Joshua was admitted to hospital in Peterborough for treatment of what was thought to be pneumonia. 13 days later we now know that Joshua has parainfluenza type 2. To most of us thats a bad case of the flu. To Joshua, thats a fight for his life. You see Joshua has Cerebral Palsy. Joshua is non-verbal, confined to a wheelchair and though you can't see it through his incessant smiles, lives his life in constant agony as a result of the severe spasms that accompany spactic CP.
Circumstances being what they are Joshua is 100% dependant on his Mom, Joanne, his Dad, Ted and his 12 year old sister Ashley for everything. Of course through this whole ordeal Mom and Dad have never left his side. In fact until 2 nights ago, they have been sleeping in their van outside the hospital.
Finances have always been a concern for them since Joshua was born as Joanne was forced to quit her job, and as you can well imagine Joshua's medicines and medical support equiptment needs are endless...
These times when Joshua is hospitalized are always a struggle for them...with the food and lodging costs alone. However, now their situation has become even more dire as we have learned that Ted's place of employment have locked their doors rendering Ted instantly unemployed.
With Joshua being on life support and still in the critical care unit we don't yet know if they'll be home for Christmas or anything else for that matter. I do know they need help. Any money I can raise will help this family cover of their expenses, relive some of the burden they are carrying and hopefully give Joshua and his sister Ashley a little bit of a Christmas. Anything you can give is profundly appreciated.
