Joshua’s Heart Transplant and Rehabilitation
Beschermde donatie
Hi friends and family,
On May 18, our son, Joshua, was admitted to the ICU with a virus that led to cardiomyopathy, which in turn caused heart failure. Over the past weeks the doctors have administered various medications, tried alternative methods and run countless tests to help strengthen and prolong the life of his heart. Despite these efforts, he is in urgent need of a heart transplant. Thankfully, he has been approved for the heart transplant list. Unfortunately, given his current condition, he will need to remain in ICU at UCSF until he receives a new heart. After the transplant he will be transferred to a medical rehabilitation residence for a minimum of eight weeks.
As a young father (only 23 years old) of three children, he has a long, unknown road ahead of him. Joshua has been unable to work for the last month, as well as the unforeseeable future. And while he is fortunate to have health insurance, it will not cover the entirety of his care. This fund is being set up to help ease his financial obligations, as well as present and future medical expenses, so he can focus on his recovery and rehabilitation. Any donations are greatly appreciated.
Thank you for continuing to keep him in your prayers. If you feel inclined to share this with others, it will be welcomed.
