Joshua’s Story
On March 6th 2011 Joshua was in a near fatal car accident that left him with massive brain damage. Although he is stable, the damaged parts of his brain continue to atrophy, creating the beginning stages of dementia. For this reason, Joshua now lives in an Assisted Living home.
There has been so much to be grateful for within Joshua’s journey since the accident. The most recent endeavor occurred when they got notice from his facility saying Josh was getting kicked out due to a clinical error on Kaisers behalf.
What they didn’t know was that Kaiser hadn’t covered Josh’s rent since November. They want the family to come up with an extra $3500 a month until a waiver that their family filled out from the state gets approved to cover the rent. It takes a year so they are hoping to be covered by January.
Tim & Serina have spent endless hours investigating and found that Josh’s facility had failed to file the proper paperwork. After prayer and hours negotiating with Kaiser, they have agreed to continue to pay a portion but will no longer cover the amount necessary for Josh to stay. The final bill for Josh’s facility is $1000 that they will be short every month until the assisted living waiver takes affect. Yes they are grateful!!! But coming up with the extra $1000 for anyone is tough. They barely make it month to month as it is.
Andrew & I are asking that you pray to determine how much it is that you are willing to donate. No matter how big or small, any amount will help the family to provide the necessary care that Joshua needs.
