Joshua’s Brain Tumor AKA Frankie Da Bat

Josh had an unprecedented grand mal seizure at 3 AM on Tuesday morning.

They found a benign tumor called a meningioma in his left frontal lobe. It’s pushing on his right lobe which is what caused the seizure.

He has to get surgery on 10/13 to get it removed. He’s not allowed to drive in NC for at least 6 months following the seizure.

After the surgery, Doc said 4-8 weeks recovery before he can return to light activity and 6 months to a year before he can do strenuous activity.

We have had an incredible outpouring of support from the many people we are so blessed to have in our lives. We are trying to set aside our pride and ask for help when it’s needed. Following Josh’s surgery there will be a number of incidental costs such as follow up appointments at Duke (2 hours away), having to order meals and Uber rides since he cannot drive, etc. that we could really use help covering.
