UPDATE 11 January 2024
Sadly beautiful Josh passed away on 4 January 2024 surrounded by family and close friends. We are holding a funeral and celebration of his life on 15 January 2024.
The funeral will be held at Trinity Christian Church on North Terrace, Adelaide, from 2pm. If you are not able to make it in person, a zoom link will be available. Following the service will be a wake at the Wakefield Hotel at 4pm until 8pm.
This fund-raiser is still up and accepting donations to help us fund the funeral and wake and give Joshy the send of he deserves. If you are able to donate, we would appreciate it.
All my love and appreciation
Courtney ❤️

Hi, my name is Courtney. I have created this Go Fund Me page on behalf of my brother, Joshua, who is about to embark on the most scary journey of his life. Battling Cancer.
After a period of time suffering from headaches, Joshua made some appointments to figure out the source of the problem. Fast forward 4 weeks, he received a diagnosis of NUT Carcinoma located in his sinus, which has attached itself to the optic nerve in his eye. An extremely rare and aggressive cancer, and without much research, his future is unknown. Prognosis - survival rate past 2 years..... 30%. Average length of survival post diagnosis....10 months.
I am sure that a lot of people have had cancer touch their lives in one way or another, and if you haven't, am sure you can still appreciate how absolutely f**ked it can be. A young man of almost 24 years of age, Joshua has taken each step of this process in his stride and has upheld his sense of humour and humility, despite this news and despite the enormous amount of pain he has been in recently. I am so proud of him, and how he displays strength and courage well beyond his years. While many of us would fall apart. Despite facing this battle, he remains selfless and empathetic for those around him, trying to lighten the burden of this news in whatever way he can. Always checking in and trying to bring the family together.
A son, a grandson, a brother, a nephew, a cousin, a friend. A kind, compassionate, loving and strong man. Of all the people in this world, he does not deserve this. And most of all he just wants to live. Who knows what the future has in store for him, all I know is it won't be easy, and we just want to make sure that whatever it looks like, that there are no financial burdens or pressure on him, that he has the means to make decisions and to do with his life what he wants.
The first step confirmed in this process is the surgical removal of the tumour, which also involves removing his eye. And Josh, with that sense of humour and strength I talked about earlier, said to me "I would rather lose my eye than my life" and this is a testament to just how important living is to him. This will be followed with intense radiation therapy, which will also take a toll on his body.
I have created this page to raise money for my brother to allow him the opportunity to fulfil any wish he may have and to assist with paying for medication, a prothsetic eye, equipment, games (which we all know he loves), maybe travel, or even funeral costs (God forbid) it comes to that.
I understand with inflation and the rising cost of living, that money can be tight, and my brother would never ask for anything, but any donation big or small would be so greatly appreciated by me, him and my family.
If you could also share this page as far and wide as you can to help raise awareness about NUT Carcinoma, and my brothers journey fighting it.
