Joshua Robert Skaret, 29, of Murfreesboro, TN., went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 10, 2021.

He was born on May 3rd, 1991, in Missoula, MT., the son of Delmar and Paula Skaret.

Joshua is remembered by his family as a kind and gentle spirit who was always there for those he loved. He was his family’s tall and sweet natured, “Joshman." As a child, Josh was adventurous, mischievous and eager to sneak out of the house to play with a friend or get a cookie from a friendly neighbor. His precocious nature always had him looking to further his understanding of a myriad of interests and hobbies. He was proud of his luscious long hair and the beard that had its own persona.

Joshua was fascinated with anime and the deep roots in Japanese culture. He was drawn to the Japanese language and he studied constantly with flashcards everywhere he went...even while visiting Six Flags. Josh had an insatiable desire to experience Japan in person but sadly never had the chance. He consistently pursued the art and knowledge of coffee origins, brewing and roasting methods. There was not a cafe he could pass by without requesting an espresso beverage in a house mug. Josh loved food... all kinds of food in fact... and no hot sauce was too challenging for him. He was intrigued by Oscar winning films and looked forward to watching the award shows every year. His love of fantasy and classic literature was on display in his extensive  book collection.

Joshua was a talented, albeit more private, musician. He carried on the Skaret tradition of playing the trumpet. His passion for music of all genres was evident in his enthusiastic critiques of a bands latest album and the blasting of his current favorite song before school (much too early in the morning).

Joshua experienced life and all its discoveries with curiosity and passion. The loss of his presence on this earth will continue to overwhelm those who loved him.

Joshua was preceded in death by his father Delmar Skaret, brother Trevor Skaret, grandfather Delmar Martin Skaret and grandfather Robert Evans, great-grandparents; George and Carrie Skaret, great-grandmother Laura Lounsbury, great-grandparents; Harvey and Becky Lounsbury and great-grandmother Wilma Evans. He is survived by his mother, Paula Skaret of Lewiston, ID., his sisters; Heather and Brooke Skaret, originally of Missoula, niece Hope Skaret, grandparents; Ron and Kay Willoughby of Lewiston, grandparents; Bill and Eva Strange of Lewiston; and many loved aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.

The Skaret family want to sincerely thank Joshua’s loved ones and friends for all the care and support shared during this very painful time. We hold on to faith and find rest in knowing that he is at peace and with his loved ones in Heaven.

Future interment arrangements will be made to bring Joshua’s cremains home to Missoula where his father Delmar and brother Trevor are laid to rest.

The Skaret family have created a gofundme account for those wishing to provide support towards the costs of Joshua’s final arrangements.
