My name is Tracy.
Laurie is a dear friend of mine for more than half of my life. We have been through it all and remain solid. There’s something to be said for being pregnant at the same time with our firstborn sons and raising our (her five and my two) children together. Laurie’s son, Joshua was born a month before my son.
On June 26, Joshua passed away suddenly.
Joshua was smart, serious and thoughtful. He was good hearted and eager to help others. I loved Joshua. His mother summed it up best, “To know Joshua is to love him.”
Joshua’s obituary written by his mother, Laurie:
Joshua Robert Schaefer
June 24, 1998~ June 26, 2025
Joshua passed away unexpectedly & peacefully June 26th, 2025. He was a great Christian young man who was intelligent, interesting, always ready to have a conversation, always ready to work & help out. He loved his family & friends, get togethers, nature, outdoors, animals, people, music, biking, hiking, building , fixing & creating. He also loved cooking creative healthy dishes for his friends & family, & eating mom's, sister's & grandma's cooking.
To know Joshua was to love him.
He was always in high gear, ready to work, ready to conversate & listen, ready to learn, ready to have an adventure, & ready to pray.
He is survived by his parents: Laurie and Chris Schaefer, sisters: Lilyana & Rosa, brothers: Luke & Gabriel, Grandparents: Chuck & Marianne Schaefer, & Sandra Mielcarek. Also survived by many Aunts, Uncles, cousins, friends and also stepmother Grace, stepsister Sabaya & stepbrother Keenan.
“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” 1Co. 2:9
Laurie is the type of person that would give the shirt off her back to help anyone in need. I am asking on Laurie’s behalf and hoping to raise funds to help her with funeral expenses. A donation of any amount would be greatly appreciated.
