On 3/14/2020 our daughter and son-in-law gave birth to their first child and our first grandchild. Both mom and baby are doing fine and are home now.
The rest of the story...

Brittany is the daughter of Ron & Kristy Struska, missionaries to Rosarito, Mexico. She is taking unpaid maternity leave from her job, which will be longer than expected because of the extended recovery time of a c-section. Brian is the Assistant Pastor at a local church here in Mexico. He is also working towards a degree to be a teacher of languages.
On the morning of 3/14, Brian & Brittany went to the hospital to see how things were going due to some concerns that they had. When they saw the doctor and explained everything, he recommended that they get an x-ray which after review, he then sent them for a full ultrasound. Through the ultrasound, they were able to see that the cord was wrapped around Joshua's neck making a traditional birth not possible without great risk to the baby. The decision was made to do an emergency c-section for the health of the baby.
Here in Mexico, the way the health system is set up it is cash up front before procedures. They had planned on a natural birth and were prepared for those expenses. When it turned into emergency c-section, the cost went up significantly.
As proud grandparents, we are starting this campaign to hopefully help them to pay off some of that expense, so that they can begin this new chapter without the nagging stress of a large medical bill hanging over them. Anything you can do to help push us closer to this goal would be much appreciated.
