My 18 year old twin nephews Joshua and Jonah are facing an immediate housing need and a kickstart to life on their own. Their mom was diagnosed with Huntington's disease several years ago and most recently has been diagnosed with early onset dementia and is being hospitalized indefinitely, meaning that the boys, who are just graduating high school in June, are now forced to start life on their own. The immediate need is for the June rent in the current apartment. Secondly, with the lease ending at their current apartment at the end of June, we are looking to raise the security deposit and the first month's rent as they look to move into a new place in July. Several social agencies are working with the boys to find suitable housing, but there is always an upfront cost in getting moved and settled as they secure better jobs.

This is the latest in a long string of unfortunate events the boys have faced, including losing everything in an apartment fire when they were infants and again in the Fort McMurrray fires of 2016. As well as losing their grandmother to Huntington's disease in 2022.

We hope to be able to help them to get to a place where they can look forward to graduating and moving on to the next chapter of their life with the security of a safe place to call home.
