Josh Hill is a food truck owner in the Charleston, South Carolina area, and for the past several years he has poured everything he has into building his food business and serving his community. A few days ago, while working in the food truck, Josh was involved in a horrific grease accident that resulted in severe third-degree burns to his left leg, foot, and toes. The burns stripped the skin from his left calf all the way down to his toes, and he is currently being treated in the burn unit at MUSC. Josh will be undergoing surgery on Monday, which will require doctors to cut and use skin from other parts of his body to help regenerate what was burned off his leg. He is expected to remain in the hospital for an additional week or so, followed by an extended recovery period where he will barely be able to walk, let alone work. As a small business owner and food truck operator, Josh's ability to work depends on being on his feet. This injury has immediately stopped his income and will affect his ability to operate, serve customers, and continue building the business he has worked so hard for. This GoFundMe is being created to help Josh get through the recovery period ahead. Donations will go toward medical bills and burn-unit expenses, surgery costs, follow-up appointments and wound care and household bills and support for his 6 year old daughter Namiko. This is not easy for Josh to ask. He has always tried to work hard, stay moving, and build something real for himself and his family. But right now, he is facing a situation where he physically cannot do what he normally does to provide. Any donation, share, prayer, or word of encouragement means more than Josh can explain. He is focused on healing, getting through surgery, and eventually getting back on his feet so he can return to the work and community he loves. Thank you for supporting him during one of the hardest moments of his life.
