Josh's Fight: Stroke Recovery Fund
Donation protected
It’s been a roller coaster of ups and downs over the past week and a half. The good news is that Josh’s surgery was successful, but the recovery process has brought several challenges. The doctors continue to say that he’s doing better than expected, but as you can imagine, the waiting can be difficult—especially when we can’t see everything the medical team sees.
Josh was placed back into a medically induced coma and intubated for the third time due to respiratory pneumonia from aspiration, along with a few other complications. The doctors believe they’re on the right track with treatment, and we’re grateful for their care and vigilance. Still, this is a long road, and there are many unknowns ahead.
Please continue to pray for Josh and Megan as they walk through this season together. We’re thankful that Josh’s mom has been able to be in Phoenix to support Megan, and that his sister Jordan is taking care of the girls back in Indiana.
Bodies can be unpredictable, but we are holding tightly to the promises of God. We continue to believe and declare that Josh will be healed and made whole.
Thank you for standing with us in prayer and support.
We want to thank everyone who has given and continues to support us through this season. We received a call yesterday with incredible news—insurance will cover the flight to Arizona, and we’ll be leaving this Sunday. This is truly an answer to prayer and feels nothing short of a miracle. While this marks a new step forward, it’s clear we are only at the beginning of the journey for Josh’s care.
We have some specific asks in the coming days. Your continued prayers have sustained us and truly keep us going. Please pray for Josh and Megan as they travel—for safety, peace, and strength. Pray for the girls as they remain at home, that they would feel comforted and supported while their parents are away.
Specifically, we are asking for wisdom as we begin this next leg of the journey and prepare for Josh’s upcoming surgery. Please continue to pray for clarity, skill for the medical team, and peace as we face the unknowns ahead.
We are deeply grateful for your continued support in every form—your prayers, encouragement, and kindness mean more than we can express. We will continue to post updates as things change and evolve. Thank you for walking with us.
Hi everyone,
This is one of the hardest updates we’ve had to write—not just because of everything Josh is going through, but because we’ve come to a point where we truly need to ask for help.
As many of you know, Josh found out 6 years ago that he lived with a Cavernous Malformation. At this time he found out it was not just one malformation but he actually had 4 but the most dangerous one was found on his brain stem. For a long time, Drs monitored it and we prayed it would remain stable. But on April 14th, Josh suffered a stroke that changed everything. After weeks of hospital stays and rehab to try to move forward it seemed like Josh was staying down for far too long. After being rushed back to the Hospital on April 29th, he had a massive seizure that led to him being intubated for nearly 18 hours. It was terrifying, and it made it clear—He can’t wait any longer. The malformation has to be removed.
After an emotional few weeks filled with testing and searching for help, we finally have a path forward. Josh has been accepted into a highly specialized neurosurgical program in Phoenix, Arizona, with a team that focuses specifically on cavernous malformations. This is the best chance Josh has for healing and recovery.
But getting there is incredibly costly. The medical flight alone may cost more than $41,000—and that’s just the beginning. There will be hospital bills, recovery time, and an extended stay away from home.
Josh is the sole provider for our family. While we focus on his health and the upcoming surgery, we have no income coming in. Megan will need to be by his side every step along the way. She has and will continue to be his voice and advocate through this journey. And as They prepare to leave for Phoenix, our hearts are heavy knowing they will also be away from our daughters for an extended period.
Please keep our girls in your prayers—this is so hard on them too.
They have tried to stay strong and handle as much as we could on our own, but we are now at a point where we need to lean on our community. If you’re able to help—whether through a donation, a share, or a prayer—we are so deeply grateful. Every act of support truly matters!
Thank you for walking this road with us. We’ll keep you posted as we get closer surgery.
Monday April 14, the unimaginable happened.
Our beloved Josh, a 37-year-old husband, father, and man of deep faith, suffered a sudden and life-altering stroke. In the blink of an eye, his life—and the lives of his beautiful family—changed forever.
After rushing him to the hospital, and digging into Josh's specific medical history, doctors pinpointed the cause: a cavernous malformation—a rare and serious condition in the brain that led to the stroke. He has previously dealt with this but with deeper understanding, It’s a diagnosis that now requires not only immediate and ongoing medical attention, but specialized care to ensure recovery and protect his long-term health and quality of life.
Right now, Josh is unable to walk unassisted, speak clearly, or care for himself. He faces a long and difficult road—filled with physical therapy, speech and occupational therapy, neurological evaluations, and possibly brain surgery. But even in this moment of uncertainty, we know this: Josh is a fighter. And we believe in the strength God has given him.
More than anything, Josh is a man devoted to his family. A faithful husband to his wife, Megan, and a loving father to two young daughters who miss their daddy more than words can say. He is the kind of man who reads them Bible stories at night, teaches them about love and faith through his actions, and always makes sure his family feels safe, seen, and cherished.
What makes this even harder is that Josh has always been the primary breadwinner for his family. He has worked tirelessly to provide stability and security, allowing Megan to focus on raising their daughters and building a home full of love and faith. With Josh now unable to work, their world has been turned completely upside down.
Megan is doing everything she can—trying to be present at Josh’s bedside, caring for their little girls, and juggling the weight of bills, medical decisions, and grief. It’s simply too much for one person to carry alone.
This family now faces an overwhelming financial burden: mounting medical bills, the cost of travel to specialists, rehabilitation, childcare, and daily living expenses—all without the income they depended on.
So today, we’re asking for your help.
If you’re able to give, your support will go directly toward Josh’s care and his family’s basic needs during this painful, uncertain season. Every dollar helps. And if you’re not in a position to give, please consider sharing this story—and most importantly, PRAY.
Pray for healing. Pray for strength. Pray that Josh will walk again, speak again, and return to the life and family he so deeply loves. Pray for Megan, that she may find peace and hope in the middle of this storm.
We believe in miracles. We believe in the power of prayer. And we believe that God is not finished with Josh’s story.
Thank you for walking with them. Thank you for loving them.
