Josh’s Eye Surgery and Recovery

Donation protected
If you know my brother you know that he’s funny, kind, caring, hard working, and incredibly stubborn.

Earlier this year, Josh (who was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at 15) came down with Covid and as a result is struggling with worsened diabetic retinopathy in both eyes. The retinopathy is threatening the vision in his right eye and so he has a vitrectomy scheduled for June 28th in addition to the laser therapy he’s already been receiving. A second, follow up surgery is required in three or so months as well.

A vitrectomy “is a type of eye surgery to treat various problems with the retina and vitreous. During the surgery, your surgeon removes the vitreous and replaces it with another solution. The vitreous is a gel-like substance that fills the middle portion of your eye.”

Josh is temporarily unemployed and recovery could take up to four weeks so we’d like to make sure that he’s taken care of during his recovery.

If you could please help by donating or sharing, I’d really really appreciate it. He means everything to me and I just want to make sure he’s okay and doesn’t have to stress while he recovers and looks for more work. Thank you so so much!
