Hi Everyone,
As most of you know, Joshua and I have had a hard time starting our family. We were blessed with our first pregnancy in ’13, but unfortunately lost our baby. We were devastated. Shortly thereafter we received the infertility diagnosis. In September of ’14, we were blessed again to be accepted into the infertility program through our Reproductive Endocrinologist! We were finally going to have our baby!! But, after multiple IUI’s (intrauterine insemination), for reasons unknown, we were still unable to bring home our dream baby.
Flash forward to just last month. We got THE call!! After two and a half years of being on a waiting list, we will be starting IVF (in vitro fertilization) !! Even more exciting is that after our consultation, the doctor gave us the green light to begin this amazing process next month! (October ’16) This is HUGE!! IVF is known to have great success rates, and we are optimistic about what those success rates actually mean for us!
To give you a technical definition of what this all means.. “IVF is the process of fertilization by manually combining an egg and sperm in a laboratory dish, and then transferring the embryo(s) to the uterus.” (americanpregnancy.org)
We are both so incredibly excited! I don't even know what words to use that could better convey our feelings ! This is totally an infertile-couple’s dream come true. It's OUR dream come true!! We could be pregnant with our dream baby by the end of next month!
Unfortunately, with such great science comes a great price tag. We are beyond ready to start our family, but the financial aspect to receiving this treatment is intimidating.
Although we are under the care of military doctors, everything will be done in an outside hospital that specializes in this procedure. But that means our insurance doesn't cover any of the cost.
That's why we are asking for help. This is the final effort to have a biological child(ren) of our own.
We’re so thankful to have such a strong emotional and moral support system amongst our friends and family. The support we have received from you all is what keeps us going. We KNOW there is a light at the end of this tunnel- and we're almost there!!
With all of this being said, if you find it within yourself to donate- please know how much it means to us. Your decision to help us will never be forgotten.
If you are unable to help us financially you can still help us by saying a prayer, sending well wishes, keeping us in your thoughts etc. Every little thing helps us and we love you all for what you do and continue to do!!
