Hiking Fundraiser for Pure Hope Foundation
Sub 30 degree weather, frosty mornings, miles and miles on an unknown trail, knee and joint pain like we had never had before, absolutely no preparation or training, overpacked backpacks, a late start time, and a determination to overcome for a purpose...
Why you ask?
Hello! My name is Josh and I'm 19 years old... Back in October I hiked with my good friend Dylan into the Rocky Mountains with full backpacks and full hearts. Later in October two more good friends of mine Abigail and Rebekah took a long trek as well! We were hiking in honor of and to help fund an organization that has come to mean a great deal to me. Pure Hope Foundation is the nonprofit we are raising awareness and funding for -- bringing restoration to SURVIVORS OF SEX TRAFFICKING their mission is much needed. The team at PHF invites these young women into a family of support, love and growth where they can experience healing and learn to live abundantly now and thrive independently as they launch.
We hiked for 3 days with 3000 feet of elevation in the first 6 miles! 51 miles total for Dylan and I and 32 miles in 2 days for the girls hike! As daunting as this was and as much as we hurt along the way, it was a great reminder that this pain we felt was minor compared to the immense difficulty the young women of Pure Hope Foundation have faced. Please join me and my friends as we STEP INTO THEIR STORIES and help -- will you step with us?
