Josh Watson’s Fight Against Cancer

Donation protected
3 years ago our mother was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, she lost in her battle in a few shorts months on Thanksgiving Day. My baby brother Josh lived with her and was her care giver along with our stepdad Don. In January of this year, our stepdad was diagnosed with Stage 4 rectal, colon, liver and lung cancer. It was at that time, the security company Josh worked for was underbid and lost their contract and he lost his job. Due to this and our Stepdad going on hospice, Josh has been his primary care giver and therefore has been unable to work and has a medical card. My brother was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer a couple weeks ago. It is esophageal cancer and lymphoma in his neck and abdomen. We are praying it is not in his liver as well. He has already had a port placed as well as a stent in his esophagus, we were told he would begin chemo last week and he still has not. They will not even scheduled the PET scan until his medical card approves it. These days and weeks we are waiting could have devastating effects on his treatment. We are also hoping to seek better treatments out of state. My brother TJ is a PA and knows a doctor in Pittsburgh that he has gotten an appointment with. We are also considering Duke Hospital as it has a better treatment center for esophageal cancer. Since these are out of state they will most likely not accept his medical card and as well as him having lots of added expenses with traveling to and from appointments so I am beginning this page asking for help. I’m asking above all else for prayers. Prayers for miracle. Josh turned 35 last month. Esophageal cancer has a average of 8 to 12 month prognosis and only a 15% five-year survival rate. This is 3 people living under the same roof being diagnosed with not only cancer, but stage four cancer within three years. Strictly from a mathematical standpoint, the probability of this has to be astronomically low. We need a miracle. And we need money so that we don’t have to wait for approval before my brother can get life saving treatment. Everytime he goes back in, it is bigger. We need treatment now. And we need the means to be able to get the best treatment possible wherever that may be.
I’ve been asking for prayers and I’ve been praying for a miracle. Every time I cry out to God asking for a miracle, I say “God you parted the waters, You can do this” Sunday after service, Nadia hands me her papers from class like she does every Sunday. It wasn’t until I was sitting in the car riding home when I looked down and saw what was in my hands. My 4 yr old learned about and drew God parting the waters. I truly believe God was speaking to me, telling me He hears my prayers. I know God can move mountains, He can and still does perform miracles. I must trust and believe with all of my heart that He can and He will. I’m asking for prayers for a miracle, for strength and peace for my family. I never imagined I would be creating a page like this, I humbly ask for any amount you may be able to give, no amount is to small. Every dollar will be one step closer to the best treatment possible. Thank you for your consideration and prayers. Please consider sharing this on your page as well, so that we may reach more people. If you can add my brother Josh Watson to any prayer chains. God bless and love to you all.
