Hi my name is Christine ( Josh's mom ) , we are trying to raise funds for my sons road to recovery and medical care needed to help give him a better quality of life . Josh has had a horrible past year with his health . He was diagnosed at 9 years old with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis, since then he has had ups and downs with his health through the years . He has had numerous surgeries related to his JRA in the past and has successfully made it through them .He was on remission for a long time but something has trigged his system and affected his eyes and skin, although he had lost vision over a year ago he has developed excruciating pain in one eye that requires removal of his eye . Our insurance will cover his prosthetic eye which is great , but he wants to have interchangeable prosthetics that are costly & when he came to terms with losing an eye all he wanted was to be able to have funny cosmetic eyes to change out. Prosthetic eyes are not cheap and not done local so the cost for travel and services will be out of pocket . On top of his eye issues he has also developed a rare skin condition that he struggles with open wounds that wont heal and the wounds that have healed have left horrible scarring which requires plastic surgery that is not covered by insurance . We also will need to travel out of area to find specialist that have more experience with his condition to hopefully find a diagnosis of what is triggering this onset of inflammation in his body in different areas affecting his skin , eyes and internal organs. These procedures and process to find answers are taking a toll mentally and financially on our family , so we are reaching out to our friends, family and community for help ! Josh is the strongest , kindest and loving young man I know and deserves a better quality of life than he has been dealing with !
