Josh Riddell - Chemotherapy and Expenses

Hello everyone, my name is Scott Riddell and I'm trying to raise funds for my son Josh living in Taiwan. In 2020 he Sold everything here and moved 1/2 around the world to Marry his Love. His decline in health started in May 2023, the back pain he was experiencing would not go away and he had an x-ray in August 2023, diagnosis was a Pars Fracture between L5/S1. He tried everything from stretching, acupuncture, physio, Chinese medicine needles to numb the pain, none of it worked so he had surgery last resort.

Had back fusion surgery April 26 2024, Surgery went well and so was recovery. Around the beginning to middle of June he started feeling really weak and fainted one day. His wife rushed him to hospital June 28. They did blood work, CT, MRI, x-ray and pumped him full of new blood and nutrients. That's how they found his Colorectal Cancer, there was perforation in his stomach that could not be treated with pills or medicine. Emergency surgery was performed as the only way to treat it, the Doctors cut numerous inches from his colon July 2nd and advised him that it was at STAGE 3!. He spent 3 weeks in hospital was sent home to recover further. He was then fitted with a chemo port and all set for 1st chemo treatment August 7th BUT, with the pre-chemo examination they discovered massive infection where surgery was and had to treat that before chemo. During the examination procedure, they discovered more tumors on his liver.

He has been admitted to Hospital again and will stay there until he is strong enough to start the chemo while they monitor the infection from surgery. The cost of chemo is not covered by his insurance, ALL the hospital costs are NOT covered. He has not been able to work in 2024 so his savings have dwindled.
