Joshua Jacob Cothard also known as JJ left our lives Saturday, April 8th all too soon, at the age of 31 years old. JJ was well-loved by all who knew him.
All proceeds raised will be put towards honoring JJ through a celebration of life and handling his affairs. All additional money raised will be put towards suicide awareness as we hope to prevent others from experiencing this type of loss and support those who have.
JJ spent his childhood growing up in Central Pennsylvania with his brother Tyler and Mother Aime. As he got older he relocated to Massachusetts and later Connecticut where he set his roots. He had found such loving relationships, friendships, and communities in all these places.
Everyone JJ meet was touched by his inspirational character, as well as his outgoing and unconditional love. Stories could be shared for years on how JJ touched people’s lives as he was a selfless individual which showed in countless ways.
JJ was extremely talented and had a vast career path. He worked as an EMT, Chef, Landscaper, and Carpenter. He was part of the Army National Guard for 8 years and left the field as a veteran. JJ most recently worked for Country Carpenters where he was able to showcase his skill sets in window making, woodworking and so much more.
JJ spent his free time learning as many skills as possible with so many people. He spent his time helping friends, rock climbing, traveling, gaming and most importantly doing acro arts. His passion for juggling was his true color though. There was not a time or place that JJ did not have his clubs on him. His juggling brought joy and smiles to everyone as he showed his true love and skills. He always provided a helping hand to friends and went the extra mile to show them his support. He regularly rock climbs at his local gym. JJ ventured all across the states with friends to explore new experiences and share his passions. He enjoyed gaming from playing on consoles with his brother when they were younger to playing any and all games as he was older. He submerged himself in his love for acro arts. Always challenging himself and others to try new techniques within the practices. JJ was also an incredible teacher of acro arts and always worked to expose others to his hobbies. When JJ wasn’t out making the room light up around others he spent his downtime with his beloved cat Fen. Fen meant the world to Josh and he was a wonderful pet parent to her.
Any and all donations to JJ’s memorial would mean the world to his family, friends, and community. His love spread so far and we wish to be able to show him how much we truly loved him by honoring him and his passions.
