As a tribute to Josh's life, our family has set-up this campaign to raise financial assistance for his children. We are deeply grateful for any contributions. They will mean so much to support his young children, Wyatt and Cora, and to help cover memorial costs.
Joshua Phillip Hamilton passed away on February 25, 2021, at the age of 51. Josh was born at the USAF Hospital in South Ruislip, England, on September 24, 1969. He was raised in Orange, CA for his first 5 years, enjoyed a bit of farm life in Arkansas until the age of 12, and spent the remaining years of his life in Southern California.
Josh graduated from Orange High School in 1987. He started playing baseball at the age of 5 playing through high school and was an integral part of the class of ’87 League Championship team. Josh was an original member of the first OHS Surf Club.
Josh’s passion, what he said kept him “sane,” was surfing. It soothed his soul and brought him such peace. He also loved racing and riding dirt bikes, and snowboarding. Not being one to be confined, Josh loved the outdoors, had a hunger for adventure and was always up for a physical challenge, always wanting to go bigger and better.
Josh could light up a room with his laughter, unique, off-the-wall sense of humor and story-telling. Josh spent his entire adult life as a craftsman/builder, using his creativity and talent to build anything and everything, taking enormous pride in his work. He also loved drawing, painting and creating.
Beyond anything else, the most important things to Josh were his children. He took great pride in their accomplishments. Despite his big, strong, rough exterior, Josh was an extremely kind, gentle, nurturing, and patient father who was loved and adored by his children.
Josh loved his family deeply and is survived by his children, Ryan, 30, Randi, 26, Wyatt, 12 and Cora, 5. Josh was happy to have recently connected with his son, Michael Edens, 32.
He is also survived by Danielle Richmond, his parents, Jack and Nancy Hamilton, his sister, Jennifer Hamilton-Sawyer, his niece and nephew, Emma and Michael and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and close friends. Josh was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents and his “Old Granny”, his nephew, Baby Jack, and his paternal grandparents.
To celebrate Josh’s life and legacy, please consider a contribution here that will support Josh's children. If you have any photos or stories to share, please contact the family or add them here to his tribute page.
