Hey everyone,

On December 24, 2022, Joshua Gerome Gary passed away due to complications with his health. If you were lucky enough to have met Josh, you know how amazing of a person he was and how caring and selfless he was. Josh had diabetes and had been struggling the past couple of months in and out of the hospital with various health concerns. Josh grew up in Hickory, NC with his mom, Lily Moody and sisters Kaitlyn and Marie, then moved out to St. Louis, MO a few years ago, and was most recently in Oakland, CA living with his girlfriend, Carmen Ye.

Josh lit up every room he entered, always sharing a story or asking intentional questions to truly get to know anyone he was talking to. If you ever needed anything, Josh would give the shirt off his back to make sure your life was more comfortable. He gave selflessly and never expected anything in return.

With his sudden passing in Oakland, his family needs to get him back to Hickory so he can be back home. The costs for this will be substantial which is why we have put together this fundraiser to try and offset everything promptly. The money raised will be put towards all final expenses and the extra money will be donated to the American Diabetes Association to help find a cure for this disease to help those still fighting against it.
