Josh Friedrich Memorial Expenses

We want to give Josh the memorial he deserves, to honor him and say farewell. With this being so unexpected, we are inviting donations to help the family and loved ones with expenses.

 

A friend recently referred to Josh as “Nyack’s collective best friend” and we know the connection he had with people spread far beyond his hometown. We are asking for your support by May 19 in order to provide the beautiful, bear hug of a memorial that Josh deserves.

 

UPDATE: Due to GoFundMe policy, the funds will be directed to an account in Patrick's name. Patrick will be working directly with Josh's mom Marilyn on the use of these funds. The intent remains to use these donations toward funeral costs and to offset hardship related to this sad news.

Out of respect for the family's wishes, in lieu of a wake and funeral, we invite you join us for a celebration of life.

Josh always found joy in his beach vacations to Aruba. Help us honor Josh by wearing bright colors and bringing festive memories to share at this celebration.

- Refreshments: food and beverages will be served.

- Blankets/Chairs: please bring blankets or beach chairs to relax on the sprawling lawn.

- Parking: parking is limited at Marydell, please consider carpooling if possible.

Joshua Nathaniel Friedrich was a son, brother, partner and friend known for his big bear hugs, warm smile and uncanny ability to make every room a bit brighter with his presence. He left this world unexpectedly on Friday, May 13, 2022 at age 40.

Josh was born to Marilyn McClain and Gene Friedrich on July 2, 1981 and beloved by his younger brother Aaron Friedrich. Whether he was known as the jovial bartender at Casa del Sol, the patient swim instructor at the YMCA, the loyal friend from childhood or the loved one who would drop everything for the people he cared about, Josh is universally remembered for bringing happiness and laughter to all those around him.
