Josh Finn's Trade School in Malawi

Donation protected
In the Summer of 2018 I went to Mzuzu, Malawi for three weeks to teach woodworking skills to local High School students that are part of Mzuzu Academy.  Not only did I bring a supply of hand tools to begin the program, but I was able to teach much-needed woodworking skills to students eager to learn the trade.   The students I worked with are AIDS orphans and wanted to learn a trade that would provide them the skills necessary to earn a living.   The new program was well received, and the Academy even built a new woodshop as I was there.  It is being stocked with a new bandsaw, drill press and planer.  I am looking forward to returning for six weeks in the Summer of 2019 to continue teaching and setting up the woodworking program.  I will be bringing more hand tools and accessory equipment for the new stationary shop tools in order to ensure their maintenance.   I will also be using funds for travel expenses as well as shipping costs for much needed tools.  Your support is very much appreciated!  Please get in touch with me if you would like more information regarding this project and/or would like to see photos from my 2018 trip.
