24 Hour Charity Walk for Oxfordshire Mind
Hello! So for a while now, Chris and I have been deciding what it is that we would like to do this summer to raise money for charity. After a not-so-long time, we came to the conclusion that we both love walking. We love walking so much that we decided it would be a really great idea to attempt to walk for 24 hours around our local area in Oxfordshire to raise money for something we are both very passionate about - Mental health. Now, it is clear that we didn't really think nor comprehend how long and far it would actually be, but 'we both love walking,' and we walk pretty much every day, so how hard can it be? At least, that is what I am telling myself. We are attempting to walk for 24 hours continuously around areas including The White Horse, Buscot, The River Thames and many other surrounding villages, with our total distance arriving around 105km. We will be starting at 10am on Friday the 12th of August 2022 and finishing at the same time on Saturday.
Mental health is such an important topic that should be talked about far more than it is. It is impacting far more people than it ever has, especially in today's climate, and It is something that I am incredibly passionate about. As someone who has experienced their fair share and seen people affected by it first hand, I think there is no other charity for which I would rather be doing this. Walking has always been an escape for us, and pushing ourselves to do something we both love whilst raising money for something we care about is incredible so any contributions would be appreciated beyond words. We are incredibly excited to take on this challenge, and thank you for all the support.
