Amber and Josh met as Amber was finishing up her bachelor degree and Josh was entering the civilian life after serving in the military. Soon after getting married they moved so Josh could finish his degree where he had been stationed in Colorado. When starting their life together both Amber & Josh had hoped for a large family. Unfortunately, after multiple losses, working with infertility doctors, thousands of dollars of testing, treatments, surgery and a recent/difficult diagnosis of stage 4 endometriosis, their doctor strongly recommends In-vitro fertilization (IVF) with a round of Lupron for trying to grow their family.
After losing two babies to miscarriage. They continued with more fertility testing and treatments in hopes of having a rainbow baby (baby after loss). They have tried other routes such as fertility medications, HSG, IUI, and a hysteroscopy polypectomy surgery to remove several polyps. After this surgery they conceived but that ended with an early pregnancy loss. Although this is not a guarantee of having a baby, the chances are significantly higher for a woman with endometriosis. After the retrival Amber will be put on a medication frequently used to treat endometriosis and advanced prostate cancer to help treat the endometriosis and give her the best chance of a successful transfer and pregnancy.
Despite both of them working and living a simple life, $20,000 is out of reach on their own, which is required to start the IVF process. Unfortunately, insurance does not cover any infertility treatment or In-vitro. Time is not a friend when it comes to her condition as each month her endometriosis grows leading to cysts and inflammation which make the chance of success even less.
This process has been a financial, physical, and emotional rollercoaster. I am hoping that together we can alleviate some of the financial burdens they have been under. They are both optimistic for the future and can't wait for someday to have their rainbow baby in their arms.
Thank you to everyone for your support and well wishes, whether it be by contributing financially, through prayers, or words of support and encouragement. You are appreciated more than you know and we have been so incredibly humbled and thankful for every single one of you.
