The Viramontes family is asking for your help in during this tough time, as most of you are aware of by now on 2/22 José Viramontes was admitted in to the hospital due to a pontine hemorrhage which almost caused him to lose his life as a result he had a bleed in the brain stem, the stroke affected the ability for him to move his whole right side, and the bleed in his brain stem affected his speech and the ability for him to eat through his mouth, he is now being fed through a tube in his stomach. Although, he is beginning to progress and the doctors are impressed by the amount of improvement he has shown, he will still have constantly battle with complications such as aspiration pneumonia. We were discharged from the hospital on 3/22 because they were unable to do anything more for him. Unfortunately, we are stuck in a situation where he did not have health insurance nor did he qualify for government assistance. We were provided with the option of short term in home hospice care which will temporarily help with supplies such as a hospital bed, formula and 1 hour of medical attention a day until they feel that he has gotten to a point where there services are no longer needed (if he continues to improve) which could be at any time, at that point we will be discharged and all supplies and equipment assistance will come to a halt. The other 23 hours a day is up to the family to take care of him which is why we are asking for help, as Jose is in the situation where he is unable to work and his loved ones are missing days of work or even leaving their jobs to take care of him, so if you would be generous to please provide us with a small donation to help provide for his medication, formula and help save for a hospital bed we would greatly appreciate any little bit and we also ask that you keep us in your prayers as we continue down this long journey. Thanks in advance and god bless you.
