Jose's Journey: Overcoming Cancer Together

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,

Jose Valdez is a third-year doctoral student at Texas A&M University. He uprooted his life in Colorado to pursue his passion for higher education. Unfortunately, Jose was recently diagnosed with cancer—a battle no one should have to face alone.

As a graduate assistant, Jose is unsure if he can secure an assistantship for the summer and next academic year. His insurance is tied to his ability to secure another graduate assistantship for the upcoming semesters. The medical, travel, and daily living expenses will become overwhelming as Jose undergoes treatment. Despite the challenges, he is facing them with incredible strength and determination. However, the financial burden will add unnecessary stress during this critical time.
