Jose's Cancer Fight

The battle started in July 2015. Feeding tube, Radiation, Chemo, strong faith and the support of many family, friends, co-workers and loved ones had the beast licked; for a little while.
Now the beast is back and it's a whole new fight.
Well Dr visit is done and here is the info about my husband Jose, it's a lot but lets do it!! Esophageal Adenocarcinoma can not win.
We met with the Dr and here is the plan for the next couple of weeks.
First they will have to do an Endoscopy (to be done in Tucson) within 1-2 weeks from today, to get a biopsy of the cells that showed in the PT Scan to verify the status of the activity.
Second, upon confirmation of the biopsy (which both Dr's feel strongly that it is a recurrence) then surgery will be planned within 4-6 weeks.
Third, the surgery will entail the removal of the stomach, (yes the whole stomach) then infusion of Chemo directly into the abdomen and attach a piece of intestine where the stomach was and recovery. This will be done in San Diego and surgery is about 3-4+ hours long and recovery 7-10 days in the hospital and then 6+ weeks of recovery after that. Plus we will need to return to San Diego two weeks after I am discharged from the hospital for follow up care with the Dr. and then again 4 weeks after that.
The procedure will be done as a laparoscopic and with use of robotics. But if they can not get everything, then the next step will be full open chest surgery.
Any funds raised will be used for travel and lodging and medical co-pays and are being deposited directly into Jose's bank account by gofundme. The type of surgery and treatment is only done in a couple of hospitals in the US, with San Diego being the closest which is why we have to travel to attemp to get a cure.
That is the latest info and not what we wanted to hear but it is what is best for this tumor or Cancer. Thanks you all your support guys, it really means a lot.
