911 operator in need

My name is Cindy and I am reaching out to you to help a friend. His name is Jose Ruiz and he is one of my most favorite people in this world. He is kind, funny and selfless. His big heart and desire to help others is evident through the career he chose to dedicate himself to. He is a 911 police operator. For close to 15 years he has been the voice on the other end of the line that is there to get you help and now that voice on the other end of the line needs our help.
In November of 2015 Jose suffered a stroke that took away his voice and his ability to use his body the way we take for granted every day. While I was experiencing the miracle of life giving birth to my twins Jose was in the same hospital fighting for his life. A little over a year later Jose's strength has shown that he is a fighter. Although the recovery he has made so far has been nothing short of amazing he still has a long way to go. Jose is unable to come back to the job he cares so much about. Jose and his beautiful family truly are an inspiration. They are positive and hopeful and always greet you with a genuine smile on their face. They ask for nothing in return.
I recently found out that Jose needs to pay for his health insurance benefits for the next few months in order to be eligible for a medical retirement. The cost is around 500 dollars a month. Without the income this amount seems insurmountable. I am asking we come together as his extended family to help with this cost so that Jose and his family can continue to concentrate on his therapy and recovery. Anything above and beyond this amount can help with daily living and medical expenses they may have.
Thank you so much for your consideration and taking the time to read Jose's story. We sincerely appreciate your support!
