Hi, my name is Joe Simmons and I am a Dialysis patient in need of a Kidney Transplant.  I am 50 years young, husband to my wife, Danielle, for 30 years and a father of one daughter, Raven, who is in her first year of college at this time.   I am a Minister of the Gospel and serve as an Associate Pastor at my church.

This transplant will greatly increase the quality of my life.  It will allow me to spend more time with my family and eventually re-enter the work force.  Right now, I travel 45 minutes one way and dialyze for 4.5 hours three times a week.   Dialysis, while saving my life, also takes over my life.  There are many conditions that can be dangerous about the procedure.  Over the years, the process of cleaning my blood is taking longer and longer.  As a transplant patient, I will likely live a longer and more productive life.  

This procedure and the upkeep of a new kidney is very expensive.  Insurance does not cover 100% of the costs. I have to raise enough money to help pay my 20% of hospital and doctor's bills and to cover the anti-rejection meds which are very expensive. I would like to thank you in advance for whatever help you can give.  I am already on the transplant list and am awaiting the call.
