Joseph Scott and his beautiful family have been a strong pillar and shining light in so many lives. Please help us in an offering of love and gratitude to his family.
It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I inform you that Joseph Irving Scott, a dedicated husband, a loving father, son and brother transitioned on January 26, 2021. Joseph succumbed to pneumonia that was Covid related. He leaves to cherish his beautiful memories his beautiful wife Marcia and their two sons; Jeremiah and Joshua whom he loved very much. He also leaves behind his mother, sisters and brothers. Their sudden loss is heartbreaking and unimaginable.
Joseph cherished his family and made fond memories with them that they can cherish for a lifetime. He enjoyed supporting his sons at their athletic games and he was the main source of accumulating support from businesses around the city of Long Beach to provide funding for the Wilson Football Team. Joseph stood tall and always showed confidence as he embodied love, humility, courage and gratitude for his family and friends. He would go over and beyond for the people he loved and cherished. Joseph loved sharing the word of God wherever he went. He was actively involved in several Ministries including his online Ministry, “Open Door Ministries”, where he had over 4,000 followers who heard and read his daily posts. Daily he shared Spiritual and Motivational Inspirations to thousands of friends and people on various platforms on Facebook.
When I begin to think of Joseph, I, like many others think of the charismatic, confident, loving, giving and Christ centered human being that God allowed us to have in our lives.
Joseph was a mentor not only to his son's but to young men at church and throughout the communities. He always had something positive to share and would provide aid to anyone in need. Joseph was always willing and ready to share God's word and spread love to those who needed it. He never hesitated to share his testimony of God's grace over his life.
Joseph was a great cook and was always willing to feed anyone who needed a meal. He had an Evangelism ministry when he would cook a large pot of chili and feed the homeless. He did this monthly.
Joseph not only ministered to us locally he also nationally and globally ministered to raise funds for a village in Uganda. In doing so, he was able to send financial aid to buy crops of corn as well as PPE equipment, clothing and shoes.
When the pandemic began, he and his sons started “Yeahh Boii Catering”. All customers received large quantities of food for a small price. This was another form of ministry for him. He was truly a generous gentle giant.
I am petitioning for your donations from his friends, family, classmates, colleagues, coworkers, Brothers and Sisters in Christ and anyone who has been touched by his presence and ministry to please help. The GoFundMe fund page is set up to help with expenses that may come up during this time. Thank you for your continued prayers and financial support of Joseph’s Family. All donations will go directly to the Scott family. Please continue to take safety precautions, practice social distancing and wear your mask. Thank you and God bless you!
