Joseph’s Medical & Other Expenses

As of recently, Joe’s health has declined and he was admitted into the hospital about three weeks ago. It was discovered that one of his heart valves is infected and will need to be replaced in order for Joe to continue living a happy & healthy life.

On behalf of Joseph Byron (“Pomo Joe”), our family is requesting for financial assistance to help cover his medical expenses and other monthly bills as he undergoes an Open Heart Surgery and will be recovering into February.

If you are able to donate any amount of funds to help Joe during this time, we would greatly appreciate the financial support. If you are not able to share funds at the moment, we understand and appreciate your prayers just as much. As Joe’s family, we ask that you please pray for Joe and share this request for prayers & funds.

For those of you who don’t know Joe, he is a language speaker of our Southern Pomo, Coast Miwok and Witukomno’m (“Yuki”) peoples indigenous to present-day Northern California. Joseph has dedicated his life to the revitalization of our peoples’ languages while working with various tribes to preserve our Native culture & history.

He is also a beloved son, brother, nephew, uncle and cousin to his family and is loved by many relatives, friends, and communtiy members alike.
