Hello friends and family,
Just a life update from the Oberhausen family. We got some bad news a few weeks ago & needed some time to process, but we are finally ready to share and ask for prayers and support. My sweet, kind, & 24 year old husband has been diagnosed with kidney disease and will ultimately need a kidney transplant in 2-4 years.
We believe his disease is due to complications he had at birth that were never treated quite right. Currently his kidneys perform at about 20% of what they should, leaving him anemic and hypertensive. Right now doctors are treating it with medication and a low sodium diet until he is able to find a donor and receive his transplant.
Since posting about our life update on Facebook, I have had a handful of people reach out to me and ask where they can donate to help support the financial burden of hospital bills. You all are the sweetest! I am not normally one to ask for money, but if you are feeling generous and would like to support us, this is one way that we would be very grateful.
This surgery is a $400,000 surgery and our insurance is already fighting his $200 monthly shots for his anemia. This is going to be a very long and expensive process and anything helps. We are very grateful for your prayers and support.
