Hello, my name is Ashlyn and I am Josephine Bombase’ daughter. Around December 2024, my mother, was admitted to the hospital for respiratory issues. Months later, she was diagnosed with interstitial lung disease, a condition with no cure, and a 3-5 year expectancy, where the only long-term option is a lung transplant. She also faced complications such as pneumonia.

Over the following months, my mom continued to fight through it all and was even able to return home for a short time during the summer. However, around September 2025, her condition worsened, and she was admitted to the hospital again. From that point on, she remained hospitalized until April of this year.

On April 17, 2026, just two days before my parents’ anniversary, my beautiful mom passed away early in the morning. She was only 48 years old.

She was such a bright and lovely soul and was always there for our family and continued to support us, even when she was sick. Over the past year, our family has gone through so much. My dad became the sole provider while also caring for my mom every single day. We are now facing funeral expenses and other financial challenges during this difficult time.
