It is with a sad and heavy heart to even announce this. On Tuesday January 30th at 1:56pm, our beloved son, brother, cousin, and friend passed away. Joseph Thanyiel Dak died at the Sioux Falls, SD hospital from injuries sustained in a head on collision.
Joseph leaves behind his mother, his two brothers, four sisters, seven nieces, and two nephews.
At this time the Dak family is preparing and planning for his Funeral arrangements. We are setting up a GoFundMe account for those who are able to help lay Joseph to rest. As my family and I grieve this heavy burden, we ask that anyone who knew Joseph and loved him and are able to give in any way, please do.
The Storm Lake community is broken right now. Joseph was loved by so many people. Not just within the Nuer community, not just within the Storm Lake community, but from ALL over! Different states and everything!
Joseph had a light about him that was so contagious. He’d walk into a room, and everyone was drawn to him. Joseph loved people, he never met a stranger. He was always smiling from ear to ear, and even if his joke was not funny, his laugh made the joke ten times funnier.
Joseph loves Jesus. He was one of a kind. Our hearts are torn, and I know anyone that got the opportunity to meet him will never be the same. I believe Joseph would want us all to live life to the fullest. I believe Joseph wants us to be kind always, to love one another, to spread positivity. Let’s honor him and do just that. We as a family are eternally grateful for all the prayers, love, and support at this time. Thank you so much.
At this time anything helps. Again, my family is so grateful for you all. God bless. LLJD! ️❤️
