My Brother Joseph… Bro Joe, I called him, passed away on Sunday, August 1st due to complications of his mental illness.

He was always trying to go to school, or try a new career to support his family. He was an artist, graphic designer, woodcarver, photographer, and barber. He left his wife Laura, his daughter Emily and his son Ethan, who is currently serving a mission in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Joe’s mental illness became manifest during his mission to Richmond, Virginia. He gave his all to serve the Lord and he spent many hours studying the scriptures and praying. To my knowledge he never complained about his struggles, which were great for him to bear.

He was always kind to those around him and often affected people in unique ways through his kind acts of service or conversation. He had a tender heart and was very good at expressing himself on paper in his many journals, letters and emails.

I am raising funds to pay for Joseph’s funeral and burial expenses. Please reach out to support Lara, Ethan and Emily for the loss of their father.

We are at peace to know he is now with the Lord and his family on the other side. He is no longer in bondage to the awful illness he endured for the last 27 years of his life! I know you will continue your mission in the next life Joe… I look forward to the day we will meet again!!!
