On June 22, 2019, the McCollum family suffered an unexpected loss. Joseph W. McCollum, Jr. passed away from a ruptured aortic aneurysm at the young age of 62. The family, nor Joe, had any idea his life was in jeopardy. He was rushed to the hospital with pain, where they attempted emergency surgery but were unsuccessful due to complications.
Joe was the sole provider to his fiancé Melissa and three of his five children, Justin, Makayla and Makenna. He is also survived by his two oldest children Melinda and Joseph, III. He did not have any insurance and thought he would live until he was 100, as everyone hoped. He was a generous person and would help anyone when he was called. He enjoyed working on houses, cars and doing projects outside. He loved hosting barbeques and spending time with his family. One of Joe's favorite holidays was Christmas. Joe loved dressing up as Santa for the kids and decorating his house for people across town to come and admire. He even crafted various cartoon characters that he displayed in his yard for every holiday. Joe opened and maintained his pool every summer for his family and his friends to enjoy.
To say he will be deeply missed is an understatement!
This unexpected incident left the family heartbroken with numerous medical bills and funeral expenses. Please help this loving family cope with their sudden loss and Melissa and her children get on their feet. I know any amount small or large will be very much appreciated!!
