Hello, my name is John. On behalf of Juan Jose Marin (Joe or Joseph), this fundraising effort is a collaboration of love including John C., Michael J., JayDe L. and Scott B.. This is in cooperation with Joe's brothers and sister to ensure support and celebration of Joe's life.

We lost Joe, 51 years old, on October 21, 2023 after a month-long struggle with undiagnosed meningitis. Joe was my first San Francisco friend in 1996 and I am so fortunate to have him in my life for 27 years. We met at Phoenix in Castro having fun on the dance floor. My best times with Joe were when we talked and laughed (and laughed and laughed) together. We gave each other joy, friendship, respect, sometimes frustration, but most of all love. Handsome Joe will never be forgotten and I'll always cherish the time we had together as we all grieve his loss.

Joe's passing presents a financial shortfall in covering his funeral services and memorial. Joe didn't always lead an easy life and struggled with health issues. Whether you know and experienced the wonder of Joe or simply want to support a meaningful and loving act of kindness, we hope you can help us out with any contribution.

This campaign's funds will be used for funeral services and a memorial service. All unused funds will be donated to youth arts programs or organizations we know Joe would support. We will update this page once we identify the organization(s).
