As we created our memories as a couple, we enjoyed going out during off work, going on long drives, watching baseball and football, going to the beach, and taking trips during our special occasions (anniversary, birthday).
On 1/18, my husband went to work. Around 6:30 pm, I received a call that my husband pass out at work and was sent to the hospital. When I saw Joe, he was connected to a mechanical ventilator, a monitoring device, and many tubes. Per staff, he had a cardiac arrest and was able to revive him. The doctor transferred him to the ICU and put him in a prone position to drain the fluids in his lungs. His oxygen stabilized, and the staff asked us to see him, but suddenly, they called for a code blue. He was revived again, but additional medications were given to him to help the heart pump. I choose to stay with him until his last breath. He passed the same day.
Everything happens quickly and unexpectedly
I'm thankful to Joe for the sweet memories. I love you, Joe, till the end.
