In Memory of Joseph Loughborough
Donation protected
My name is Phillip, and Joe was one of my best friends.
During this incredibly difficult time, I’ve been doing what I can to support those closest to him - especially his partner, Audrey, and his family, Dominic and Emma.
With their blessing, I’ve helped set up this fundraiser to bring together the many offers of support we’ve already received, and to help cover the significant costs of Joe’s farewell, as well as the additional fallout from his untimely passing.
This is a way for all of us who loved Joe to contribute, stay connected, and honour his memory together. Thank you for reading, and for anything you’re able to give or share.
With love,
Phillip
It is with profound sadness and disbelief that we share the sudden passing of Joseph Loughborough, who died peacefully on 16th June 2025, following a brief and unexpected battle with cancer.
The swiftness of his illness has left us all in shock. Just weeks ago, Joe was laughing with us, making plans, skateboarding, preparing for a solo exhibition, and sharing ideas - being the warm, enthusiastic and thoughtful person we all knew and loved. His absence is difficult to comprehend.
Joe touched everyone he met in a deeply personal way. He had a vast and loyal circle of friends, and carried each of us with a rare kind of presence - kind, gentle, quietly wise, and always generous with his heart. We want to honour him properly, together.
Many friends have already expressed their wish to offer support, so we felt a GoFundMe page would be a simple way to bring those generous offers into one place. This fundraiser has been created to help support the people Joe leaves behind: his beautiful partner, Audrey, and his loving family - his father Dominic and sister Emma - who are doing everything they can to cope not only with their grief, but with the complex and costly bureaucracy that accompanies death.
We want to be clear that these funds will be used solely to cover the funeral ceremony and celebration of life for Joe, and to support his family during this incredibly painful time.
We are also planning a celebration of Joe’s life, and we want to ensure that as many of Joe’s friends as possible can be included and supported in giving him the send-off he so deeply deserves.
If you knew Joe, if you loved him, or if you were touched by his presence, please consider donating what you can. Every contribution, no matter the size, will help ease the burden on his partner and family, and ensure Joe has the farewell he would have wanted - and so richly deserves.
With love and thanks,
Joe’s friends and family
